Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors to our School 

Thank you for taking an interest in our school. Monkhouse is a warm friendly place where children, parents and staff work together as part of a happy learning community. We take care that families and children receive a warm welcome and that all pupils make an excellent start to their education with us, no matter when your child joins the school.

My name is Laura Baggett and I am lucky to have one of the best jobs in the country, being the Headteacher of this fantastic school. We have high expectations of our children and every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. We recognise that every child is special and has their own contribution to make. 

The staff at Monkhouse Primary are dedicated, hardworking and highly experienced.  We provide a calm and caring atmosphere in school and foster a hardworking ethos based on an enjoyment of learning. We expect a great deal from our children and they do not disappoint us. 

We have a very positive partnership with our parents and community and we have a very supportive and active Parent & Friends Association, Pupil Leadership Team, Eco Council and Governing Body. We are very proud of our reputation as a welcoming and high achieving school.  

The Staff and Governors are continually seeking the views of parents, carers and visitors to our School. We recognise that parents play an important role in the education of their children and as such we welcome your support and co-operation in making your child’s time at Monkhouse Primary enjoyable. We encourage parents and carers to discuss any concerns or issues with us.  Please call in at any time to see me or to make an appointment if I am not available.
