Digital Dolly Project

During the Summer Term, Our Year 6s were fortunate to continue their work with the North Shields Heritologists and embark on a venture of 3D imaging.

The Wooden Dolly has stood watch over Northumberland Square since 1958, but she has now been brought firmly into the 21st Century by our students and a little help!

Take a peak at the project by watching the documentary filmed and produced by our students.

Digital Dolly Project - Monkhouse Primary School

Here is an example of the 3D digital image of the Wooden Dolly in Northumberland Square created as a result of the series of photos captured by our student's iPads. These images were fed into the digital imaging software to produce these results before being 3D printed into our very own replica!

Digital Dolly - a 3D model of the Wooden Dolly in Northumberland Square, North Shields

The Wooden Dolly has stood watch over Northumberland Square since 1958, but she has now been brought firmly into the 21st Century by the North Shields Heritology Project (The "Heritologists") and local schoolgirls. Twenty key stage 2 girls from five North Tyneside Primary Schools, who call themselves the Little DigiLadies, visited the Dolly and took over 300 photographs of the statue from all angles.
