'Parent Carer Forum: Challenges with Sleep Workshop' feedback:
"The workshop was full of useful information, provided in an inclusive and accessible way by a very approachable presenter. My wife and I are quite far down the ‘our child doesn’t sleep’ route so some of the information wasn’t necessarily new but the presenter easily adapted and shifted the conversation to be personally relevant to our family’s situation. She was not only presenting from a theoretical perspective but had personal experience of a child who struggles to sleep. This was really useful as I felt able to share challenges and feel heard and understood. So, not only was there lots of practical tips, there was also a great deal of empathy and care demonstrated around the implications of sleep issues for the whole family. It was brilliant and I’d highly recommend the session, and any delivered by the Parent Carer Forum - a great, free resource and opportunity to meet others facing similar challenges."

The term metacognition refers to an individual’s ability to plan, monitor, evaluate, and make changes to their own learning behaviours in order to confront challenges more effectively. You might have heard it defined as ‘thinking about thinking’, but the elements of active monitoring and modifying of thought processes make it much more than this. Join Miss Moulder to look at the use of metacognitive principles and why we are supporting children to think metacognitively in all of their learning in school and how you can develop this at home too.
