At Monkhouse, we believe children should have access to a wide curriculum with opportunities to nurture and share talent. Across the year, children are involved in a range of musical and drama opportunities.

Performance Opportunities for Parents and Carers this year

EYFS and Year One shared their own version of the nativity story.

Year 2-6 take part in a French Christmas Carol service  at St Hilda's Church. 

Every class perform a musical number at the Easter Coffee Afternoon.

Rocksteady Music group perform every term for the school and their parents.

Summer Sing Choir Success at The Playhouse! June 2025

As part of the exciting Summer Sing programme, our school choir took to the stage at The Playhouse and delivered a truly memorable performance. Singing two uplifting songs—"A Lovely Day" and "I See the Light" from Tangled—the children captivated the audience with their energy, talent, and joy.

Throughout the performance, our choir embodied all of our core school values: they were Ambitious in their preparation, Courageous in stepping onto a professional stage, and Resilient in mastering each note and lyric. Their Respectful behaviour and the Kindness they showed to one another and other schools made us especially proud.

The performance was a wonderful celebration of music and teamwork, and the children made both their families and our entire school community incredibly proud.
