Lead School for the Great North Maths Hub

We are proud to be the Lead School for the Great North Maths Hub, working in partnership with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) and the Department for Education. We work closely with the North Tyneside Learning Trust as a valued and strategic partner, alongside the schools within the Trust, strengthening collaboration and shared improvement across the region.

As a Lead School, we play a key role in supporting schools and teachers across the region to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics. This involved leading high quality professional development, supporting Teaching for Mastery approaches, and working collaboratively with schools, Trusts, and local partners to share best practice. 

This role ensures that our own maths provision is firmly rooted in national research and evidence informed practice. Staff benefit from direct engagement with national initiatives, expert networks, and the latest developments in maths education, which in turn enhances outcomes for our pupils. 

Being the Lead School for the Great North Maths Hub reflects our commitment to excellence in mathematics and to supporting improvement across the wider education community.
