Dear Critical Key Worker Parent/Carers,
Critical Key Worker Letter
Thank you for your support and patience over the last two days to allow the school staff to be ready to open up school to critical key worker children from Thursday 7th January 2021.
Critical Key worker children parents/carers have been contacted separately. The children will be in their own class bubbles and will follow the usual school day times and entry and exit to school will be as normal.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to offer any breakfast and after school club provision. Any children who were booked into these sessions have been cancelled and accounts have been credited.
Your child can come into school from Thursday 7th January (if this is a day you require childcare). This is also when remote home learning will begin for the rest of the school. On the days your child is not in school, please ensure they complete the remote home learning for that day at home.

If your child usually has permission to walk home in Years 3/4/5/6, they can walk to/from school if you would like.
Children should continue to bring their own equipment into school as they normally would such as a water bottle, ipad (KS2), pack lunch (unless ordered school pack lunch), coat etc.
PE
Please can your child wear their school uniform with trainers (not school shoes) and on the days they usually have PE they should wear their PE kit to school.

If you have issues, our staff are here to support you. Please understand and be patient, they may not be able to respond instantly as they are managing both remote home and in school learning which will not be an easy task.
Nursery 30 hours
Your child will be accessing all their nursery provision within Monkhouse from 8.40am until 3.20pm. In order to minimise bubble mixing, the children cannot go across to Rise and Shine for wraparound care as it is essential we limit contact with other adults and children. They are also limiting their session times. Although school will be providing the additional hour lunch time wraparound supervision, please continue to pay the daily lunch time fee to Rise and Shine.
Currently, we cannot offer extended hour childcare cover at the start and end of the day for any child as we do not have the staff to manage this whilst remaining open for key workers and managing remote home learning for the rest of the school. I appreciate this may cause some challenge to you regarding childcare but ask that you will make the necessary arrangements to organise drop off and collection at school for 8.40am and 3.20pm. Should you exhaust all avenues for childcare, please contact school to discuss other options.
Thank you
