Star Awards 2017

We are once again looking forward to nominate our pupils for the star awards 2017. Please take the time to read about this on the NTLT website http://ntlearningtrust.org.uk/trust-activities/starawards/. 

The 2017 Star Awards aims to be bigger and better than before, inspiring young people, recognising personal achievement and celebrating success at a glittering awards ceremony in July. 

Anyone can nominate any child or young person for one of the 11 categories, to acknowledge hard work, successes and inspiring achievements they have recently made.  

After nominations close ( Friday 28th April) , a committee will select 4 finalists from each category who, along with their families, will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at The Assembly Rooms, Newcastle ( Tuesday 4th July) . All 48 finalists will receive a fantastic prize box and certificates of recognition.  

The categories and descriptions are:  

Inspiration Award - To recognise a child or young person who goes to extraordinary lengths to enhance the life of others. For example young carer, sibling support or peer support.  

Volunteering Award - To recognise a child or young person who regularly gives their time freely and unpaid doing something to benefit the environment, individuals or groups other than close relatives.  

Fundraising Award - To recognise a child or young person who has raised money for a good cause, however large or small the amount.  

Resilience Award - To recognise a child or young person who has demonstrated extreme courage and determination in overcoming adversity.  

Useful and Kind - To recognise a child or young person who strives every day to be useful and kind  

Leadership Award - To recognise a child or young person who has demonstrated the qualities of leadership.  

Can Do Award - To recognise a child or young person who demonstrates a positive attitude in everything they do.  

Achievement Award - To recognise the personal achievement of a child or young person who has personally achieved.  

Inclusion Award - To recognise a child or young person who has demonstrated an understanding and acceptance of other people and actively promotes tolerance and cohesion.  

Local Hero Award - To recognise a child or young person who has improved the lives of those around them in their community.  

Breakthrough Award - To recognise a child or young person who has worked hard and shown significant improvement in any area. For example attitude, behaviour or commitment to their studies.  

There will also be a ‘Winners Choice Award’ for which the winners from 2016 will pick 4 finalists from all the nominations made by children of their fellow classmates or siblings.
